the town

The middletown is a safe, neutral, supportive place to be with fellow citizens. We all meet once a week to eat for free and listen to divorce stories. Most people involved in a divorce have a hard time remaining neutral… we don’t. That’s what we do. You’re safe here.

town meetings

We meet in a neutral place… maybe a coffee shop or a park or at school. Come hungry. Contact us for the next rendezvous point. Suggested donation is $10. If you can’t afford it, don’t worry about it.

stories

When parents separate, sometimes crazy things happen. It can get sooooo crazy. But that’s actually pretty normal. It’s just regular crazy. No one has to share. You can just listen if you want.

We say “I know what you mean”… and we really do. We laugh and cry because being sad together makes us happy. We learn from each other’s stories.

citizens

The citizens of middletown are YOU and US and everyone whose parents are separated. We all meet for free pizza once a week. At every town meeting, a volunteer shares his or her divorce story. You should listen to the gnarly stuff we’ve been through. It’ll probably make you feel better. Maybe your life has more drama than ours. Maybe not. Either way, come hang out.

volunteers

Volunteers share each week and you can too… if you want to. Do you have a juicy divorce/separation story? I’m sure we could all learn from your story, but no one has to share. Working through each others’ challenges helps everyone heal. We need volunteers to share their stories every week. Do you know someone who would volunteer?

mission statement

We provide a safe, neutral, supportive place for kids to hang out and have fun with other kids going through a divorce. By hearing others’ stories, kids know they’re not alone and it’s all going to be ok.

treasurer

It’s free to be a citizen of the middletown. How do we pay for all that free pizza? Donations from parents and successful citizens who see the benefit in this program are our only support. Do you have the means to donate? Not only will you pay to keep our lights on, but help obtain our goal of supporting citizens nationally by starting chapters everywhere. We need you.

the future

Citizens have bright futures ahead of them. We know from experience that divorces get better. Seriously. You’ll meet others who survived their parents’ separation… and guess what? They’re all doing fine. You will too.

BECAUSE WE BELIEVE IN US AND SO DO YOU

We rely on donations to pay for meeting spaces, web maintenance, meeting snacks, insurance & the creation of new middletown chapters nationwide. We need you more than you know.

The middletown will be a tax exempt organization pending the completion of our filing for a California Based 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit Charity Corporation. We will be official in a few weeks. Woot.
